The study of a world language enriches students’ lives and broadens their perspectives through the study of language, culture and literature. In addition, in today’s global economy, there is a compelling and pragmatic reason for all of us to learn languages. Learning languages is not only a humanistic pursuit in which we encounter the great ideas and enduring values of civilization, it is necessary for our economic survival and well-being.
The world language teachers at Monroe Township High School teach their students to use the language, to develop cultural awareness and sensitivity, and to expand their minds to help them become better global citizens who are able to function internationally.
