    Here are some fun ways to study your spelling words.

    Use yarn or string to form your words.

    Print your words on someone's back using your fingers.  Have the person guess your words.

    Draw pictures of your spelling words.

    Write the words in sand, dirt, bubbly bath water, whipped cream, shaving cream, etc..

    Make a wordsearch or crossword puzzle at Puzzlemaker.com with the spelling words.

    Give each letter of the alphabet a value. The students must find the value of each spelling word. For example: A=1, B=2, C=3.. and so on.

    Sign Language - Practice your spelling words by signing them.

     Look at a spelling word, say it out loud, cover it up, remember how the word is spelled and write it out. Check your answers.

    Practice Test - This is a great idea for Thursday night!  Have someone read all your spelling words to you and see how many you get correct.

    Play a game of Hangman using spelling words.

    Write your spelling words. In each word color all the short vowels yellow. Color all the long vowels blue. Color all the blends green.
    a Cut a picture from a newspaper or a magazine and use spelling words to write a story about a picture.

    Cut letters from magazines or newspapers to spell the words.

    ABC Order - Write your spelling words in ABC order. Then reverse the order.

    Have Mom or Dad scramble your spelling words for you to unscramble.
    a Memory Game - Make two cards for each spelling word.  Flip them over and try to match the same words.
    a Sentence Practice - Write sentences for each spelling word.

    Write the words with colored chalk on black construction paper or a sidewalk.

    Make flashcards to study and review.
    a Write the words in the air.
    a Read a story.  See how many times you can find your words.

    Use your favorite snack to shape your words and then eat them.

    Tape-record yourself saying and spelling your words.
    a Use spaghetti to form your words.

    Stamp your words using assorted alphabet stamps and colors.

    Paint your words using watercolors or fingerpaint.

    Write three or more words that rhyme with each of your words.
    a Spell words with alphabet macaroni or alphabet cereal.
    a Spell words with magnetic letters on cookie sheets.

    Spelling Bingo - Print our Bingo Board or fold a paper into 16 boxes and write your spelling words from this weeks list and past lists. The caller says the spelling word.  If the players have the spelling word they will trace their spelling word with crayon, pen, or marker.  If the player doesn't have the spelling word then they turn their paper over and practice spelling it.
