Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Masters Degree in Special Education. Currently working towards becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Welcome back to a new year at Mill Lake Elementary School! With the school year fast approaching, I wanted to introduce myself and spend a little time giving you some background information about who I am. My name is Megan Meyers and this will be my second year here in Monroe Township! My desire to become a teacher began mid-way through my undergraduate career at Rutgers University. While taking coursework towards a Bachelors in Psychology, I was lucky enough to register for a junior year fieldwork class at the nearby Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center (DDDC) on campus. During this course, I was introduced to the world of teaching and Applied Behavioral Analysis and I immediately knew what it was I wanted to do moving forward! During my senior year, I began working at the DDDC as a teaching assistant in the preschool classroom. I remained in this role for 4 years, afterwhich I became the Lead Instructor in an Elementary aged classroom for another 2 years. During this time, I also earned my Master's Degree in Special Education and completed coursework required to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at Rutger's University. I will be sitting for the exam in order to complete certification in the coming months!
I am very excited to meet you all and to help share in the growth and learning of each of your children!
