Ms. Fletcher's Summer Blog 2018

Today was the last day of school! Wow! What a special day it was. We have had such a great time learning and growing together. I am so proud of how much my students have learned and how hard they have worked in second grade. I am going to miss you over the summer and next year. Remember, we don't say goodbye, we simply say, "See you later!"

I had a wonderful trip to Ireland with my best friends from high school. We went to visit one of our friends who is living in Dublin for two years. My friends and I explored Dublin, Galway, Enniskerry and many other Irish towns! I saw some of the most beautiful sights that I have ever seen. My favorite part of the trip was our adventure to the Wicklow Mountains (first and second pictures). The view was simply breathtaking! Also pictured (third picture) is our trip to the Cliffs of Moher.

Yesterday, my newest nephew, James, was christened. We had a beautiful day with family and friends. Hope you have been enjoying special times with your family and friends too!

My oldest nephew's birthday (and birthday party) was yesterday. We had a fun time celebrating and even had a visit from Marshall from Paw Patrol!

Wow! I can't believe that the last day of July is here. It has been such a busy summer. Nicholas has been busy at camp. I have been busy teaching in the Extended School Year program at Oak Tree School. We've also squeezed in some fun and A LOT of baseball! Nicholas has been working on his summer math packet for middle school. He has been reading and writing too so that his skills stay sharp! What have you been reading and working on this summer? We are looking forward to all of the fun that August will bring!

We celebrated my nephew's 3rd birthday today! It was a great party and Nicholas and I had a lot of fun! In the picture below, you can see Nicholas and my three nephews (from right to left - Brian III, Andrew - the birthday boy! and James).

We went to Cape May and enjoyed walking around, shopping and visiting the beach! I hope you like the picture of the sunset! Where have you traveled this summer?

WOW! Today was a big day for the Fletchers! My fourth nephew was born today. Welcome to the world, Joseph John Fletcher. He weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. He joins his big brother, Brian III. My sister-in-law, Christina, is doing well. Counting Nicholas, my parents now have FIVE GRANDSONS (and no granddaughters). We officially have a basketball team!

I have been busy getting our classroom ready for September 5th! I can't wait until we are all together in Room 303. I got a special visit today from my next door neigbor at Mill Lake, Mrs. Borquist, second grade teacher, and her new baby, Scarlett. I think Scarlett really liked Mill Lake! What do you think?
