Useful Information About Our Class
I hope this information is helpful.
Your child may bring in a healthy snack. As we do not eat lunch until after noon, we will be having our snack in the morning. The exact time will vary depending on our schedule for that day. Please provide your child with an easy to eat, healthy snack daily. Please also send your child in with water, students may keep a water bottle on their desk or in their cubby.
If your child will have a change in his/her dismissal schedule, please let me know in writing- NOT EMAIL. Sometimes technology is down or a substitute is in the room without access to email. If a change occurs during the school day, please call the main office.
Reading with your child
We will be doing a lot of reading at school, but reading at home is very important. I will be reading a variety of great books to your child throughout the year. Your child will also be reading with me individually, in small groups, independently and as part of their homework. It is extremely important that we work together to make your child become the best reader they can be. Reading to your child or reading along with your child will benefit them unbelievably. I hope that together we can help your child develop a love of reading.
I believe that communication and cooperation between home and school is extremely important. Please be sure to check your child’s folder daily for notes from school, work samples, notices etc. If you would like to ask me a question, let me know of a change in dismissal etc, you can send a note with your child. You can also reach me with any questions via email firstname.lastname@example.org. I use email as my main form of communication with parents. I have enclosed a letter about email. Please fill out and return to me on the first day of school. I also use an app called ClassDojo to post pictures. You will be receiving more information on that as the year begins.
*If you have an urgent message or a change in dismissal please call the main office at 732-251-5336.
