Degrees and Certifications:
Miss Gina Piro
Greetings Parents and Guardians!
My name is Gina Piro, and I am very excited to be your child's teacher for the 2020-2021 school year! This will be my second year teaching at Mill Lake Elementary School as a Special Education Teacher. In the classroom, I utilize principles of Applied Behavior Analysis such as discrete trial instruction, data collection, positive reinforcement, and shaping procedures. I graduated from Rider University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education, double major in elementary education and psychology, minor in special education. My certifications include Elementary Education Teacher K-6 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities. I am currently working towards receiving a Master's Degree in Applied Psychology at Rider University to earn a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
A few fun facts about myself! I grew up in Monroe Township, New Jersey. I went to Barclay Brook and Brookside Elementary Schools and graduated from Monroe Township High School, Class of 2015. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors by going on bike rides and spending time with my pets. I have two dogs, one cat, and over 25 chickens!
I am passionate about teaching. As we continue through this pandemic, I am eager to continue my career as an educator. Through virtual learning or in person, I am here to support both your child and family!
