Meet Mrs. Borquist
This is my 16th year teaching at Mill Lake School. I have taught Kindergarten for five years, and second grade for eight years, and this will be my second year as the Library Media Specialist. I graduated from Ramapo College with a degree in Psychology and Elementary Education. I have obtained my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Rutgers University and I have just completed my education at William Paterson University to receive my School Library Media Specialist Certification.During my career, I have had the opportunity to attend a conference at the University of Virginia where I learned a great deal about differentiated instruction. I recently attended a weeklong institute on enrichment-based differentiated teaching at the University of Connecticut. I believe that each child learns differently and it is best to have a differentiated learning environment. I believe that students benefit most by learning in a healthy and safe environment in which students are capable of growing physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I love being outdoors! I enjoy traveling, although this has not happened in the last few years. Some of my favorite places have been: Italy, Spain, Disney World, Disney Land, Alaska, Costa Rica, and Ireland!
I look forward to a fun and exciting year!
