Dear Parents / Guardians, 

              Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. I hope your summer has been a healthy, safe and enjoyable one with some time for rest and relaxation. I am happy to have your child in my class this year! I am a graduate of Kean University and have been teaching 5^th grade at Woodland School for the past 24 years. I pride myself in getting to know each student and working to meet each student’s individual needs.

              For great information about what’s going on in Room 148, log on to the district’s website- www.monroe.k12.nj.us and click on Woodland School. Please go and view the classroom webpage. You will find educational websites, my homework policy, project directions, as well as other important information. Please use the webpage to support your child during their fifth-grade career. Below, please find the supplies your child will need. Organization will be a focal point this year, so it is important to have these supplies as soon as school begins. I know this will be a wonderful school year!

Mrs. Guiral’s Supply List for 5^th Grade

Please send these items in on the 1st day of school so we can spend time organizing all the supplies. Do not attempt to assemble the binder at home. I will show the children how to set up their binders so that each student's supplies will be the same. Thank you!

• 2 inch 3-ring binder with clear view pockets in front & back
• 4 packages of 3 hole punched loose-leaf paper
• Reinforcements for hole-punched pages
• 5 dividers to separate academic classes
• 1 sturdy folder with 3 holes to put into the binder
• 1 (3 hole) 5 subject spiral notebook
• Pencil case: 1 soft case with zipper and holes to insert into the binder
• 2 boxes of pencils
• GREEN or RED pens
• BLUE or BLACK pens  
• Crayons or colored pencils
• Markers
• Scissors
• POST-IT NOTES: 3 x 3 size
• Glue sticks

Optional items:

• Pencil sharpener with holder for shavings
• Tissues:  2 large boxes
• Black dry-erase markers with an eraser
• Lysol wipes
