• First Graders Should Know...

    Here is a list of things your child should practice and know before entering first grade:

     

    1. Identify and write the letters of the alphabet, upper and lower case.

    2. Write full name, first and last, using upper case letters at the beginning only.

    3. Know your birthday - date and year.

    4. Know your address: house number, street, town, state and country.
    5. Identify and write numbers 1-10.

    6. Recognize their name.

    7. Know your phone number.

    8. Know your shapes: circle, square, rectangle, and triangle.

    9. Know your colors: red, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple, pink, brown, black and white.

    10. Know all of the kindergarten sight words.
