THE 12 INTELLIGENT BEHAVIORS
Flexibility in Thinking means being able to look at things from different points of view and to look for many different ways to solve a problem.
Precision of Language and Thought means using words carefully to describe feelings, wants and other things.
Listening with Understanding and Empathy means to listen to others and “put yourself in their shoes”.
Using all the Senses means to use seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting to find out more about the world around you.
Questioning and Problem Posing means asking questions to find out new information which can be helpful in solving a problem.
Drawing on Past Knowledge means using what you have already learned (both in and out of school) to help you understand and learn something new.
Metacognition means being aware of your own thinking. When you use metacognition, you can describe how you’ve planned for and solved a problem.
Checking for Accuracy and Precision means looking back at something you’ve done to see if it was done correctly and completely.
Persistence means to keep trying instead of giving up easily.
Wonderment, Curiosity, Enjoyment of Problem Solving means looking for and enjoying challenges and being curious about the world around you.
Managing Impulsivity means to think before doing instead of doing before thinking.
Ingenuity, Originality, Insightfulness, Creativity means making and doing original things, in ways you haven’t done before.
