Although it's not summer yet, Nicholas and I have seen (what is sure to be) one of this summer's biggest movies - Kung Fu Panda 2. We really enjoyed it. Here is a photo of Nicholas outside the theater posing with a poster for Kung Fu Panda 2.
We also recently watched Shrek 4: Forever After at home on one of our "Family Movie Nights." At the end of the movie, we were so suprised while we were watching the credits. The editor of Shrek 4 is "Nick Fletcher"! Here is a picture of Nicholas in front of the tv with HIS name on it! How funny! If you watch the movie, see if you can find Nick's name at the end.

Today was the last day of school It has been an amazing year and I enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you. I was doubly lucky to have some of you in my class for two years! My eyes welled up with tears many times throughout the day because I will miss you all very much. Each one of you has a special place in my heart. Thank you for your hard work, your smiles, your laughter and for just being you!
I hope that you have a terrific summer and that you keep in touch. Have fun, sing some multiplications songs, and read and write! Your fourth grade teachers will be very lucky to have you in their classes.
I'll be going back to Mill Lake tomorrow to continue to pack and get ready for summer school. It will be sad being in Room 504 without you! I'll be thinking of you.

Nicholas and I went to Great Adventure today. We had a great time together going on rides and exploring the park. Here is a picture of us with the Warner Brothers characters after we saw them perform in a show. Nicholas seems to really like Bugs Bunny - doesn't he?

Nicholas and I went to a karate demonstration at the Library last night. He really enjoyed learning about karate and giving it a try himself. Can you spot Nicholas in the red shirt showing off his new moves?

The Extended School Year (Summer School) program at Oak Tree School started today. The students in my class are very nice and I enjoyed my first day. I miss all of you, though! Are you having a wonderful summer so far?

I drove to the Cherry Hill Mall today to pick up my bridesmaid's dress for my little brother's wedding. It is a long red dress and it is very pretty. Michael and Victoria are getting married on August 13th. We are very excited for them. Nicholas will be the ring bearer and my brother Brian is the best man. Here is a picture of Michael and his fiance, Victoria.

Nicholas and I went to a pool party this week with some of the Mill Lake teachers. We had hot dogs and hamburgers and spent a lot of time in the pool. It was so much fun! Do you recognize your first grade teacher in this picture?

My friends from high school and I get together once a month. We take turns cooking dinner for each other. Last night was our night to get together. It was so good to see my friends and laugh together. Here is a picture of us from my friend's wedding this past June.

It's hard to believe that July is almost over. Are you having a great summer? To my third graders - I miss you! To my second graders - I can't wait to meet you! The letters from Mrs. Barberi about what class you are in are going out tomorrow so you will soon know that I will be your second grade teacher! It will be a great year in Room 303! I hope you're enjoying your summer.

Welcome August! Nicholas and I went swimming after ESY (Extended School Year at Oak Tree School) today. It was very refreshing! Don't you love going in the pool? It's one of my favorite things to do in the summer! What are some of your favorite things to do in the summer?

My brother's wedding is two days away! Nicholas and I went to the mall last night to pick up Nicholas' tuxedo. It's pretty funny to see a four year old boy in a "grown up" tuxedo. My dad and both of my brothers will be wearing tuxedos too. It will be so nice to see everyone dressed up and see all of my family together to celebrate a happy occasion. I'll be sure to post pictures next week!

We had a great time at my brother's wedding. Nicholas did a good job as the ring bearer and all of our family and friends had a great time. Here are some pictures from the special day. The first picture is my brother, Michael and his wife, Victoria. The second picture is the entire bridal party. My older brother Brian and I are on the left of Victoria. The last picture is Nicholas doing his job as a the ring bearer.

The last day of summer school was Monday. It was sad to say goodbye to my students.
Nicholas and I spent most of the week unpacking and set up Room 303 at Mill Lake. It's starting to look like "home". We took the day off on Wednesday to go to the beach with Miss Papandrea and Miss Murray. It was a perfect beach day. We had fun in the water and we had a great time building castles in the sand. The best part was the boardwalk pizza that we had for lunch! :)

We went with my parents to help them pick out granite for their bathroom countertops. Outside of the marble and granite place was a GIGANTIC elephant. It was too cute not to take a picture of, so here's Nick and the BIG elephant!

Besides setting up at Mill Lake today, I took Nicholas to the dentist. He had no cavities! Hooray!

Nicholas and I have been hard at work in Room 303 at Mill Lake. My brother came in to help me this week. Since he's so tall he helped me out with the bulletin board over the white board. Hope you like it! I finished the bulletin board in the hallway and you'll find your picture on it! I've also included a drawing that Nicholas made on the board.
