Yesterday was the last day of school.  It was a day that was filled with happy feelings and sad feelings.  It was a happy day because we enjoyed our time together, especially finishing the day with a picnic and signing yearbooks.  I was filled with happiness because I am so proud of how much you have learned and all of your hard work.  However, it was a sad day because I'm going to miss each and every one of you.  You have become a very special part of my life and I will surely miss you this summer and next year.  I hope that you'll keep in touch.  Please send me an email and let me know how you are doing this summer and what exciting things have been keeping you busy.  My email address is melissa.fletcher@monroe.k12.nj.us or mfletche@monroe.k12.nj.us.  I hope your summer is filled with a lot of FUN.... along with some reading, writing and math practice.  :)

Today was the first day of ESY (Extended School Year) at Oak Tree School.  I have a very nice class and I know that we're going to have a great summer together.  I hope that my students can learn a lot this summer!  Some of you have probably already started going to camp.  I hope that you are having a wonderful time!

    Hello Everyone,
Hope you had a great Fourth of July!  Celebrating our country's freedom on Independence Day is always a great way to start off the summer!  Nicholas and I went to a barbecue on Friday and a first birthday party for my friend's daughter, Hannah, on Saturday.  Here's a picture of Nicholas and the birthday girl.  What exciting things did you do this weekend?

    Hello Friends,
Today was a very exciting day for the Fletcher family.  My nephew, Brian III, was born at 2:47 today!  Nicholas and I were very excited to go to the hospital and meet him.  He was 6 pounds 15 ounces and nearly 21 inches long.  My sister-in-law, Christina, is doing very well.  She and my brother Brian are happy to be new parents!  Nicholas is now a cousin and I am an aunt!  What a great day it was!  Welcome to the world, Baby Brian!  We love you already!

Just so you know who everyone is in the pictures below.....  My brother, Michael, is wearing a brown shirt.  (You may recognize it since I have the same one.  Do you remember my Hump Day shirt that I would wear sometimes on Wednesdays?)  My brother, Brian, the new dad, is wearing a white shirt.  Michael's wife, Victoria is in the front wearing purple and Christina (the new mom!) is on the right.  We are so happy to have another Fletcher in the family!

    Hello Friends,

I am very lucky to work at Mill Lake School.  Not only do I have a job that I love but I get to work with some of my best friends!  Today, Nicholas and I got to spend time with some of the best Mill Lake teachers and their kids.  Here is  a picture of Mrs. Walters' children, Mrs. Cipolla's children, Mrs. Ginter's daughter, Mrs. LeBron's daughter (Mrs. LeBron used to teach at Mill Lake and now she works at the middle school) and Nicholas.  What a great day we had laughing and playing together!  Have you been able to spend time with some of your Mill Lake friends?

    Love,
    Ms. Fletcher

    Hi Friends,
Last night, Nicholas and I went to Monroe Township's National Night Out in Thompson Park.  It was a beautiful night and the breeze off the lake was just perfect.  There were many fun activities that Nicholas enjoyed, but his favorite was running next to the cones to see how many miles per hour he could run, using the police officers' equipment which is used for tracking a car's speed.  My nephew, Baby Brian, came with us and it was Nicholas' first outing with his new cousin.  He also got to sit in the front seat and the back seat of the police car.

Nicholas has a soccer game in Sayreville tonight.  They tied their last game against Marlboro so we are hoping for a win!  I hope you are all doing something fun today!

    Love,
    Ms.Fletcher
